Plateau 110 km east of Mumbai (formerly Bombay), terraced structure, 2 km ridge in east/west and also north/south. The predominant wind directions are either east or west. When the wind is east, the "Tower Hill" is flown, when the wind is west, the "Shelar Site". The flying season is divided into 3 different phases:
-June to September monsoon season - practically impossible to fly, heavy rainfall every now and then, the ground is damp to flooded, the vegetation is lush,
- October to December: predominantly east wind, flying in the morning at Tower Hill. From midday onwards, the conditions often become very thermal and the wind speed often exceeds the flyable limit. November to December are good for cross-country flying.
- January to May: The wind changes to the west,
the north-south ridge of the "Shelar site"
is working. The flying time usually starts in the afternoon from around 3 p.m.,
before that the wind is too strong. If you get up early,
you can hike & fly down from one of the numerous mountains in the morning
